The TTR Official Strat Pride Thread

Sérgio, that quick mod was for all those old style wiring. Your Delta system is top notch!

I just cut the screech from plain strats and their many clones....

All my single coil pickguards were modded for bridge tone control, with middle and neck sharing the other tone control. My H-H pickguard was wiried for two separate tone controls, each with it's own capacitor...The bridge tone control is a must-have!!!!

Oh, and take a look at what I bought... Fender Road Worn leather strap. Straps don't really get cooler than this

That really is a nice strap!

1983 my guitar teacher said all the songs your playing are played on a Stratocaster that's when it started before that I was a hardcore Gibson player.

Ive gone through at least 200 Stratocasters in my life they all sound different down to four now.

The Delta tone system is great, I wouldn't have an SSS strat without it after trying it. I also find the middle pickup alone with the tone pot unloaded to be a very useful tone. The Fender branded no load pot has a detent when turned to 10, where the pot unloads which is a nice feature too. Cheers

Oh, seeing its a "strat pride" thread I really should show this again, I really do like it a lot, even though I'm more of a Gibson guyWP_20160722_007.jpg
By far the nicest strat I've had, in looks & the way it plays & sounds. Compound radius neck is really nice. Pickups are the stock ones. All I could find out about was they were wound specifically for these selects, but they do the job well & I'll never change them. The Delta tone system was also a stock feature & this was the first guitar I played with it. Cheers

My first electric was a Tokai Stratocaster. I played it for about five years before I bought my first SG. It was a beautiful guitar, but I was never completely happy with how it felt or sounded. Now, although I am not a Strat guy, there are SO many great Strat players (among my personal favorites are Rory Gallagher, David Gilmour, Jimi and the Danish guitarist Franz Beckerlee to name but a few) and the Stratocaster is such a versatile and sweet looking instrument that it is impossible not to like the whole idea of the Strat. As mentioned in an earlier post, I recently played a Fender CS Strat that almost felt like one of my SGs, so I'm sure there is one for me as well somewhere out there.

Here's a pic of the one I used to have (I sold it at too low a price a couple of years ago):

That is one of my favorite Strat color combinations.

My 83/84 Stratocaster.
It's my only experience with a strat. It's a great playing guitar, yet not often played.

It's more sentimental than anything, I remember the day my mother took me to Brian guitars to get it. I've almost traded or sold it a dozen times, but just can't do it. It's a 33+ year old guitar.

The only mod ever done, was the addition of a Hot Rails, and some shims in the Floyd. It's got a chunky neck and great action. It's the strange American made two knober with the weird jack....but, it's all mine.

Better focus, bad angle...

Edit: Realized it's tough to tell. It's a Mary Kaye finish: transparent white over ash (though I have chrome hardware not gold). In real life the wood grain shows very nicely through the finish.
