The amp is not forgiving at all, and magnifies my
ty playing, (much like having someone else around here riding my ass). But damn it sure sounds fine. I like the "clean" option when plugged into the "low" input as it is just a single stage with only the "Overdrive " pot to cut the volume (of course there is your volume knob on the guitar too), then straight to the fx loop and the PI. Nothing to wash out any frequencies.
If I plug into the "high" input with the "Bright "switch engaged then its a two cascaded set of stages before again hitting just the "Overdrive" pot on the way to the fx loop and the PI, again nothing to wash out any frequencies.
Or if I plug into the "Low" input with the "Bright" switch disengaged the "Overdrive" pot becomes a "Channel " pot like on a 1959 plexi bright channel, only with more gain as the plate is set at 180K instead of 100K. In that mode the CF and tonestack are in the chain.
And if I am plugged into the "High" input and the "Bright " switch disengaged, there are two cascaded stages much like a hot rodded 2204, before hitting the CF and tonestack.
The tonestack is voiced with a 33K slope resistor, 390pF Treble coupling, .022uF Mid coupling, and a.01uF Bass coupling.
