The Sofa Swerved Right Into My Lane, Officer:

HAHA Robert, How old were you there? Until my early 30's, jeans and pants 33x32 were loose on me. At 30-37 I was up to a whopping 165-180 lbs and maybe wearing 34's. By 40+ I started seeing 185-193 and pants waists were 36/38 inch. , Then as I aged up to 50-55, Whammo, I hit 203, then suddenly that 203 became 223, then a massive jump to my current 235-245lbs.

Needless to say, low back pain leads to less walking and exertion due to level of pain and leg weakness I can manage. Not a good combo for weight reduction. I sure miss being able to walk and even hike pain free.

I was 18 in that pic...I've always weight 190-200. I never fluctuate much.

Doing all the required services while its in the 'hospital,' waiting on parts...

Also, I'm writing a new tune with even leaner high-vacuum cruise fuel curves and a progressive, high-rpm timing retard. which will give even better fuel economy and better pull under load.

These all-aluminum, 3-valve V8 engines like to run between 180-190°F coolant temps and 220-225°F cylinder head metal temperatures. I use a 160°F thermostat and cooling fan on/off values of 195/187° which keeps the engine right around 190°F without causing a higher-rated thermostat to fluctuate, which causes temperatures to spike up and down.

I also retain the factory catalytic/exhaust temperature control function that most performance tunes disable. This is critical to long catalyst and sensor life.

Cold start RPM spike is disabled and idle is set to 920 RPM.

The factory 115 mph speed limiter is disabled

Traction Control System is programmed to accept 30% wheelspin, so there is none of the typical on/off 'jerking' that you encounter with a stock TRAC system...just a smooth tail recovery under power.

Speedometer is electronically corrected to accommodate the 4.30 gear and 275/35/20 tires.

Part-throttle ignition timing at cruise is 48°BTDC, which gives lower EGT's, lower coolant temps and improved fuel economy.

I experimented with an aftermarket cold air intake, but it actually increasef IAT's, so i returned to stock.

This is so much easier than carburetors and magnetos...

Looks great Robert!
Please keep tabs on your OCD; we dont want you getting all run down again.

You need to be alert whilst highway dodging sofas, replacement windows, and other highway debris.
This could be an old school video game; a reverse type version of Frogger.
