The "SG"

I dont know what voodoo they put in them-----but the "Bricks" sound "fing" AMAZING-- not sure why they get "negative" or bad wraps from some--- if you can find any of these GET THEM -- the sum of the parts is not that impressive but somebody put a little extra MAGIC in them for certain -- truly became my favoritest pups -- there is a reason THOSE 2 guitars sit --at the ready --beside the mini amp wall----

This is your first SG, right? – Correct, you all got me interested into trying one, and when I saw a solid walnut, old one (1979), I was sold.

So I want to know how well it fits your style – Not sure if I have a style, but I mainly try to play classic rock and blues. So, a Gibson through a Marshall is pretty classic and fits.

I want to know whether you consider this guitar for certain songs, and what those are. – The first song I played start to finish with it was Roadhouse Blues. I certainly see it as a rock guitar and not so much for the blues.

I want to know what the retro p'ups sound like to you, through your preferred signal

How well they push a tube amp toward breakup without any pedals - it gets a great 60s dirt sound straight into the amp on the red channels. It has plenty of signal to drive the pre-amp

Which amp you use - Marshal DSL40 and a Mesa Rectoverb

I want to know how heavy this walnut bird is – 9 pounds

How well it balances. – If I let it go it settle about

Neck dive? – Just a little

May I say condolences to your lovely wife as she will not see you for some time now.........the journey of a thousand guitars has begun......

Me too, I definitely have a weakness for the variety of awesome SG's out there.

I am working on an SG --- its taking a bit longer than expected but good things come to those who wait......
 
lol--- not quite-- but I do think you will be impressed--- this is a long term Ferengiage --- might take a week or so-- but the story has been twisting and turning ---- oh its a peach--- and will be well worth the wait.....assuming the worm turns properly

I need your exceptional Ferengi powers up here to land me a good deal on a 1972 Datsun 510 I found that has been sitting a few years now.
I knocked on the guy's door once and he was an Asian guy. He said it was his brother's car but his brother was out of the country.

The " no soliciting" sign at the head of the driveway bothers me.
 
OH -- thats RICH--- I walk into at least a DOZEN places a week -- that have NO SOLICITING signs-- --(they are businesses of course) and I always laugh because I know each of them has a team of sales people --- who are OUT SOLICITING other BUSINESS ES------ with NO SOLICITING SIGNS ! ----

IF you see a NO TRESPASSING -- thats different--- OWNER ARMED --- dont go--

but -- IF the car (might) be sitting unused and the guy can make a few $$$ -- he might be HAPPY to see you
