The "SG"

It’s heeeeerrrrre. Just needs some TLC. The wood is in really great shape. All the screws are heavily oxidized or rusted. The frets need a good cleaning and it needs a complete setup. It hasn’t been played in 15 years. Checkout the string job, jeez. :bash:

Gonna cut the strings off and get started.

Yes walnut, well matched. As I’m learning, both pups have pat no 2,737,842 which was a red herring by Gibson. The neck pup is ink stamped Mar 20 1979 and the bridge May 18 1979. I’m going with these are original. The guitar is stamped May 29 1979 by the pots.

Very cool, man. Congrats on your first SG. I didn't know they made a Gibson The SG. I had one of the Gibson The Paul's many (too many) years ago. I was a lot younder and helping an older guy that was building a studio. He scored me one new. Well, he purchased with my parents money ;)

Well you took your sweet time getting an SG ---but DAMN IT MAN ---you knocked it outta the PARK!
