The Ride, my moto vid

Ok, way back in 2001, I was bored one Saturday. So i grabbed my camera, and started up the bike..I ended up making the following video.

There was no Go-pro at the time, in fact, I only had a small video card in my lame camera. I could only record about a minute at a time. So I would ride all the way home, load the clip to the computer, rinse and repeat.

I would jam the camera on the front fender, and somehow it would stay. The riding is Very tame by my usual riding standards, and as I often say....it is what it is.

Alright, enough yapping,. The music is a big part of the vid, so turn up the speaker volume, enjoy some Judas Priest, and a quick vid of my riding antics.

WHere you at Bocco???? That looks like Ohio where I learned to Ride as a kid........all sorts of logging trails and gas pipeline roads powerline roads......man--- I sorta miss dirt bikes.....
This will do dirt --- but its a lot more work.

Im in CT
There isn't the same kind of land to ride, as there was when I was younger. There used to be logging roads and trails everywhere.

That's a nice touring bike you got there eSG. What's the make and model? Looks big, like 1100.

I have a shadow 750 also, but I never ride it. It has less than 1k miles. My dad decided to learn to ride at age 70 . Made me so nervous, that I commandeered it, and tossed him some cash.

I mostly ride the 400....the bike in the vid.

Nice riding, bro. Awesome scenery there too.

I've only got one clip of me actually riding.
When I first got an iPhone 6 about a year ago, I didn't actually realise i had the video camera on...
I was on my way to a cafe about 15 mins ride away to meet up with some friends, and must have forgotten to lock the screen when I slid the phone into my vest pocket.
A couple of months back I bought the new iPhone 7, and while transferring photos, music etc. I came across a 15 min video clip... Of me riding to this cafe!
Typical boring summers day in Western Australia. Hot and bright, idiot drivers trying to kill me everywhere...
I was going to delete the video, but what the heck. May as well keep it for posterity.
I'd post it, but I'm sure no-one is interested in a first-person view (actually about a half-first-person view!) of me riding sedately on my Kawasaki cruiser...
And being 15 mins long, I'm sure Wav, RVA and eESGe would not be happy about me using up that much bandwidth!!! I could probably edit it down to a couple of minutes though... I may do that so I can experiment with iMovie on my iMac!

Haha...Careful of those secret recordings, they've taken down more than a few politicians!

What kind of bike you riding?

Nice ride!
I put Vance and Hines exhaust on my Honda. Made it a bit louder, but the throttle is way more responsive. Think it added like 5hp too.

This bike was virtually mint condition when I bought it about 18 months ago. Only had 40000km on there clock (that's about 3000km/year!) and had been garaged most of it's life.
I got it for $3000!
And the stainless exhaust sounds cool, and definitely helps with breathing! Don't know if it makes a difference performance wise, but it runs really well.

Used is the way to go. The bike in the video is a 2001. I got it at 5 months old for less than half new. The guy who had it, bought too much bike and was in over his head.

It had two flats when I went to see it. You should have seen the look on his face when i buzzed by on a two flat wheeli! My buddy said his expression was priceless.

Even gave me a set of new tires still in the box. I had to go out of state to get it, but it was so worth it.

Out of state for me is about a 15 hour drive! I drove for an hour to get this bike... It would have to be something really special for me to drive for 15 hours!

Yeah for some reason this site doesn't like the format. Bear with me a few minutes and I'll see if i can fix it.

Well that was a nice ride, I have always loved bikes. I use to squirt some dirt when I was younger. Covered a lot of paved ground on two wheels also. I remember when Terry Vance and Byron Hines use to race for Russ Collins at RC Engineering. I got to meet them when they first opened there own shop here is SoCal I purchased an exhaust for my crotch rocket. I don't have any video from those days, but how about y'all come take a ride with me while I show a Porsche turbo 911 and a ZR1 Vette what my tail lights look like?
