The RAINBOW Stratocaster...

Well I found some old pictures of this multi-colored Strat guitar for @Don O who wanted to see more. It has been a guitar project for my niece. It is a Squier Affinity Strat that used to be black. I scalloped and painted the fret board and almost the entire guitar. The bridge pick up is a Samick double-slug humbucker which I think sounds great. I used a Gibson cover where I filled in the 6 holes for the screw pole pieces with automotive putty. I spray painted the cover with metallic paints. Switches galore are on this fine guitar. I also installed Planet Waves Auto-Trim locking tuners in where I had the drill the six holes a bit larger to accommodate the larger shaft on the tuners. I have 23 pics but can only attach 10 per post so here it goes.

What happened to the neck and middle pups in the video and last pictures?

Very nice work by the way!

I haven't installed the neck & middle pick ups yet and I'm thinking either an H-S configuration like Ritchie Blackmore where he only used the neck & bridge pup on his Strat and lowered the middle right down. Or maybe just the one bridge pick up like on EVH's guitar. I still have to work on the fret board with the coloured dot inlays. The guitar was a lot more work than I bargained for but it sure is fun to do and a chance to create musical art.:)

How did you add the figuring scallops to the headstock????

I used a Ryobi power chisel set and took my time getting the right results. It's a combo of a Fender head-stock and a Bigsby where I got the inspiration..
