Today we don't have to spend 5 figures to sound good.
Completely stock 61 RI - 1K used.
4 lowly Boss pedals on a scrap of plywood.
Tuner - $80.00
Chorus - $40.00 used.
Overdrive - $40.00 used + $70.00 for modification.
Delay - my old DM-2 - lets say $150.00, I don't remember.
Peavy Classic 30 - Under $400.00 used.
Jensen P12Q upgrade - $15.00 net. (Sold the Blue Marvel for 75)
Let's say $50.00 for 2 cables and 3 patch cords.
2 One spots, worker and backup - $36.00
The point being:
The entire rig was less than 2k, which is not bad for a shockingly
good sounding guitar rig that I would without hesitation play any
gig I have ever played in my life with.
(Come to think of it, this was the guitar and amp I used in
Philadelphia's Wells Fargo center a couple of years ago.)

They even make adjustable stuff nowadays. You should check it out.
That's how I do it to. Every case has a strap, spare string set, picks and a cloth.

For me, that would be too many straps. I do have 5-6 straps set to different lengths however
