Very artistic! It does remind me of EC's a bitToday this one gets woken up.
Early 70s SG Special.
Schaller wrap around.
Schaller tuners.
Brass nut.
Very early Larry PAF in bridge position.
Larry Humbucker from Hell in neck position.
Rings over batwing.
No phase switch.
No coil taps.
Just a simple guitar that feels good,
sounds good and stays in tune.
I have played more gigs with this
guitar than any other 3 combined.

and spend some time with Vesuvius.
This is Vesuvius.
Flamed or quilted? I'm not sure.

Whatever it is, there is a lot of it on a 335 size guitar.

Through this little board.
TC poly tune 3 w/buffer, crybaby mini, Wampler hot wired,
Walrus Julia, EQD dispatch master,
and into a Peavey Classic 30 with Jensen P12Q upgrade.
It all makes a nice sound together.

I honestly can't get over how good this guitar is. It's a 2016 LE Plaintop Traditional, no weight relief.
I've owned a lot of Les Pauls, played even more, and there is just something special about this guitar.
I've heard a lot of people say that about the 2016's and I really do concur, it's a magnificent guitar.
VERY nice! What pickups?
Tonight I hang a guitar around my neck that is as dangerous as it is beautiful. Meet Earl. This is a 2007 PRS McCarty, purchased NOS in 2012. It was on lock-down for years due to the cites restrictions on Brazilian rosewood, which is what it sports as a fret board. The body is Korina, the neck is mahogany. It has 2 McCarty pickups, wired to split separately instead of together (the only mod). The pickups are warm but loud!

I value your opinion Don, and thanks.
That is my first shell build and has some learning curve errors where I damaged the neck binding installing and edge filing the frets.
I also set the nut a little too low on the bass side and will shim it with a sliver of business card to correct.
Other than that, she is a sweet ride.
The Beater is my $20 Yamaha bottom level HSS strat style find.
With what i had on hand, plus a quick fabbed jack plate, and a used Seymour Duncan TB-4 Custom at the bridge, it is a really nice player and sounds great.
This, despite the low grade wood and other things that make it a budget guitar. Amusingly, the stock plastic nut is cut and fit well and remains in service.
