What a great prescription! While visiting the acupuncturist last night, he said that I should aggressively play some scales on my guitar to help with the work he's doing on my left arm. Did that for an hour, then goofed around for as much. Did the same this evening. This old beater was my muse of choice.

So the LP did NOT stay in tune it seems! You are not alone!
I’ve been fortunate. All four of my electrics hold tune really well. The Strat, Viking and fake Tele hold tune while playing. They will go off sitting due to temp/humidity change…… but they always seem to go off equally across the board whether that be sharp or flat. The G400 was another story. I’d tune it. It’d go out while playing. Figured out the stock Epi bridge was basically junk. Replaced it and the tail piece with Tone Pro pieces and the thing has been rock solid since.I used to have trouble keeping Les Paul's in tune, until I discovered that the culprit was the nut profile and not the construction of the guitar.
Once I began using a funnel shaped profile with a fall-away, and keeping the floor profile rounded and held to +.004" above string gauge, all my LP tuning issues stopped completely.
Most interesting is that my 2021 Les Paul 50's Standard Gold Top stays in perfect tune as delivered from the factory. I've never made any alterations to it, but I noticed there's a lot more work in the nut profile on this $3,000 Les Paul than there was on my $1,100 2016 Les Paul Studio.
My stock Stratocaster 6 screw tremolo also stays in perfect tune even after repeated, 11 semitone dive bombs and that's with a brass nut and Grover Vintage Tuners.
It really is all about the nut profile.
Is that the Ramo approved version?Im playing the Vanilla Gorilla!

When I dug mine out and played it, it was also down a half step but almost perfect. It stayed in tune quite well all night. It was a half step down in tuning not bad stayed in tune after a few hours of play.
At least kitty helped. My pooch….. all 45 lbs of her will try and crawl in my lap when I play. Maybe she’s trying to tell me something??I got some help tuning my Jr. before my practice session tonight. Thanks Sheena!
