Finally able to plug in a guitar and have a few beers after a rough week of work. ‘62 SG Special plugged straight into a 50 watt Marshall. Who needs pedals? Hope the neighbors are enjoying it.
I had a practice session with my Epi Firebird which by the way does not have "Firebird" pickups (I didn't know what type was in it. I had to look it up). It has Probucker Alnico II pickups which sound fantastic to me.
Been on a PRS kick the past couple days. Yesterday I played my Tobacco burst SE SC245 which has a wide fat neck and 245 S HBs. Today I played my Trans Blue SE Standard 24 which has a wide thin neck and 85/15 S HBs. They both feel totally different but play and sound fantastic! I upgraded the nuts to Tusq and the tuners to Allparts locking minis on both guitars.
mostly this setup, but have also been playing the LP Studio as well.
Really liking this with a little reverb and the Boss SD-1 (or the cheapy Klon as well) level maxed , gain 9:00.
TS does well here too.
I've been playing this since I modded it yesterday morning. I bought the Epi Special II on the SGW auction site for $103 shipped. I installed new Musiclily Pro vintage style locking tuners and SD Whole Lotta HB pickups that I got in a trade with @Cadorman. I got lucky and got a nice neck with good frets. The guitar plays and sounds great!!
Had one of them and a little EPI ss 10 watt amp -- was my ONLY rig for many years in the Keys (didnt play as much then -- but there was NOTHING wrong with that little ripper right there when I did want to rock out!)
