No kidding. Other day I was messing around. Tried one of my “other” picks. Was thinking, something just ain’t right. Exchanged that for one of my Fender Mediums.... Ahhhh.... that was the problem.Just like some say a pick is just a pick...

Now i have my own pics in a great quantity now. But last Summer ran short up at my summer home, so my Wife and i went into Long&Mcwade music store, My Wife decided to come in with me I asked the two guys at the counter i am looking for cat tongue 1.00, My Wife said a pick is just a pick, and immediately both guys said at the same time said NO IT'S NOT! My Wife was speechless, then we all had a good laugh about it. It's been a conversation piece ever since..
I don’t go thru picks like many of you do. Consequently, I have my favorites..... even though they’re all Fender mediums. I swear after I’ve used one long enough it deforms to the shape of my thumb. I’ll be playing and just not be comfortable..... turn the darn pick around and go..... yep, that feels better. Lay the pick on the table and it’s perfectly flat. Needs a refret....it’s the original neck from this...
I kinda played through the original frets, and hacked them up a bit...I was young, and dumb...I asked my favorite local shop(I did buy it from him in 1988...used) about doing a refret, and he handed me the Blackmore style scalloped neck. He asked me to try it. I did, and went back to tell him that I did like it...he said, “keep it then” and refused payment.
edit: That was about 22 years ago...still playing it.

An SG. Who would have guessed? Actually been emailing back and forth with Java. I really need to do some work on this, which has me a bit paranoid. It no longer lives in the temporal rain forest of County Clare, and is now in the extreme swings of New England, and it has been changing a bit. It is starting to show signs of stability. Just needs some TLC.
