The Muse I Adorn

Say what you will about "FIRST ACT" guitars.............those VW things (and several other models Ive played) can be AMAZING diamonds in the rough
First Act was actually a custom shop that made very high end guitars, and had some cool designs. Unfortunately they decided to use some of those designs to sell cheap import guitars to Walmart. The cheap Walmart stuff ruined their brand identity, and they went out of business. They have since sold the name to someone else who now only makes cheap toy guitars for kids.

The VW guitar is a step above the Walmart stuff.

That, I didn’t know. I just knew them for the cheap Walmart beginner guitar sets :/

How you digging the Stetsbar? Been curious on those
I have two still...one on the SG in my avatar, and one on the V in my sig pic. I like them very much. Once they’re all set up with the guitar, a decently cut nut, and I prefer to use locking tuners with them, they hold up pretty well. Tuning stability is good...the D string can bind a bit on the Gibson 3x3 headstock, but once you fret a note it usually falls right back in tune. I set them to drop pitch only, so that I may droptune at will without worries of the whole thing going south(or north) like with a Floyd. Works for me. Will drop over an octave if set up properly.
I played with Floyd Rose systems for over a decade, and I prefer the Stetsbar for my needs.

Very cool! I was looking at one on my Tele when i was rebuilding it. Still might make a change to it sometime!

My V was a husk purchase, so it came to me with no bridge or tailpiece...setting it up with a Stetsbar in nickel finish wasn’t much more expensive than a fancy bridge and tailpiece set up....maybe an extra $70-$80 and I had a trem.

Awesome! I might seriously look at trying one of these out. Surely dont want to route out any of my guitars but this eliminates that

more details on this lovely beastie please
It's a partscaster of the highest order.

Squier Affinity body
Squier Vintage Modified Cabronita Tele neck (added 2 years ago)
CTS pots
Oak Grigsby switch
Orange drop tone cap
Eldred mod
Dimarzio Twang King pickup

Leveled and polished frets
rolled fretboard edges

Thin coat of white lacquer sprayed over original thin red finish

Years of abuse and carnage in punk and garage bands.

This originally belonged to a close friend of mine, (and the bass player in my band) named Kevin. I traded him a MIM P bass for it about 2 years ago (because the first time I played it, I had to have it!! It's really that good). Kevin Passed away last Christmas, and I now affectionately call it the "Kevincaster".

It obviously has sentimental value to me, but it also just happens to play like a custom guitar, and sounds like a snarling, mad beast. The Twang King pickup is nothing less than amazing.

:dood: :dood: :dood:

It also came with this cool Coffin Case.
