The Muse I Adorn

I’ve gotta say....no regrets....I absolutely dig these....

Although, to be honest, the one on the right is surprisingly adept at filling any space needed for bass...
Talk to me about the Peavey tonal positioning, best analogy maybe. Do they fit somewhere between in the Fender-Gibson-Ric camp ? I dumped most my gear excess & after the Mort Comes thru, going to load up on Bass gear for gigging. Looking for a beast to put heavy strings on deal with the Drop's. Not going 5 String decided.

So... I got tired of the same old :dancepoo: so I created a new patch in my Mustang. Basically a "plexi" with the bias run really hot, and a boost pedal into the front end. It's almost like a NAD.

That's what I like about modelers. If you want something new, you can create it, and basically have a new amp for free.

Anyway, the new patch sounds really good with this guitar.

Sweet Tele, Ebidis!!

Thanks. Norm That guitar is like part of my body. It's a 2012 Squier Vintage Modified Telecaster Custom. It is one of my top two guitars.

I got it in a trade for some pedals almost 5 years ago, from a guy who just didn't bond with it. I did not have that problem. I loved it the first time I played it.

I have made a few improvements to it, even though it was great to begin with, I just wanted to make it more mine. I have leveled the frets, recut the nut, rolled the fretboard edges, rounded the fret ends, modified the neck pickup, and replaced the guts with all high quality components.

It has a fat C shaped neck with 9.5" radius that I absolutely love, and its light weight, just over 7 lbs.

This thing is really right up there with any Fender I have ever played. I love this guitar. Out of 8 guitars, it is one of 2 that will never leave my possession.

It's my "can do everything" guitar. I call it my Les Paul Killer.

I think that they are chameleons in their tonal positioning...they’re really quite versatile. I usually thump around on them like the unskilled ape that I tend to be, and they can do the heavies pretty well. BUT they ARE physically heavy as could be...the T40 is over 12lbs IIRC, the T45 seems a little lighter though. The T45 hangs in Fender P territory, but can do other things too thanks to the humbucker/split single tone circuit with the weird “mid” control.
I put this string set on the T45, and now have another set “on deck” for the T40...

The T45 has become my “go to” with these strings on it...it is just the first bass that I reach for these days. I have a lighter set of black tapewound strings on the T40, and it’s ok....but I’m going to bump up to these soon.
