The Muse I Adorn

The T-60 (If I had to choose just one) is more comfortable and fits my adult frame better--plus it can sound like many things ---- but the 15 is always a fun little romp down memory lane. ANd does what it does very very well.

I love that guitar.
If you look at picture 1 there is an eagle
between the back strap button and the stop tail
at the level of the volume controls.
I see other stuff too but the
eagle is really obvious.
The only way I would ever put a pickguard
on that would be to use a clear one.

Thank you, and now I see that eagle!

I just put a new pick guard on this one...a 5 ply. Oh, and some new pickups were wound for it...they went in tonight. It was the first time I ever swapped out a set of P90s. Nothing wrong with the originals, I just wanted to try something in the range of “stupid hot” P90s. So far, so good with these. I’m still dialing them in because I tried to squeeze the install in before rehearsal. Details are for another thread though... on to it.

This thing can sound huge now...or very classic.
We played some Pink Floyd, Stones/Ace F, an energetic version of some Talking Heads, some drop C# Peter Gabriel, Foo Fighters, Tull, and Tool. It got good reviews. A notable difference.

Custom wound pickups? That is exciting!

The same guy that wound the two sets in my sig pic. Mick Manlius...Manlius pickups. He’s very nice to work with. I told him that I wanted something that would do some old Sabbath, maybe touch on some stoner/doom in that vein, but still clean up for Floyd.
They’re very sensitive to height adjustment, so I want to sit with them a bit to dial them in perfectly.
We played a little War Pigs with them, and they sounded fantastic...so did Floyd's In the Flesh/Run Like Hell.

I will check him out. Let us know what you think after you have had time to dial them in

Ray,
Does that red SG have a name yet?

th

Harvey?
You named it after an 8 foot tall invisible rabbit?
I don't know what to say about that.

Should we start a "Rename Rays red SG"
thread or do it right here in this one?

What say you all?
That would open a fun.

I would say that is the BEST LOOKING Gibson I have seen just stunning....mesmerizing......a true Enchantress.....

Tonight's Muse is my girl Goldie Hawn, an R6. She has the stock Gibson P90s, but they are hot. I only made one, very important mod to this guitar - cavity routes for adjustable pups! That's right, they do not have to be dog ears to be stuck in place. Gibson chose to make this with incredibly shallow routes to stay true to historic specs. Now, this guitar is just perfect!

Damn you, Ray! You are an evil provider of GAS. I'm SO gasing for a Lester with P90s right now. My humbucker equipped goldtop has made me want another one, but with P90s. And you are not helping, good sir!
