The Muse I Adorn

Is the finish on your Billy-Bo checking? How long ago did you build this?

It was completely assembled and playable in December of ‘12. I started it in ‘09 or early ‘10.

It has longitudinal checking on the maple cap, along with the finish worn down to bare wood in one spot. The worst abuse was when my wife showed it off to some people, and no one could figure out how to put it back on the Hercules stand correctly. They scratched the ever living hell out of it, and it was only a few weeks old at that point. At least the business part of the neck is still smooth, and very inviting.

So, this 2014 HSS standard strat is quickly becoming my go to guitar.
Covers a lot of ground and tone for days.

This thing takes some acclimation time to get used to...after playing four-string basses for a bit ;) .
But I have to say, the homebrew 18watt and Weber loaded Kustom cab sounded great with this bass for playing a little Tool....46 and 2...both P pickups, active preamp engaged, mids on the bass preamp scooped JUST a smidge....no pedals involved at all.
Just friggin gorgeous!

Oh, and I probably could have shortened the Rocket Appliances strap a bit, but it’s set so nice for my SG.

More details on that "blue" SG, please... :fingersx:

It started life as an '80s Burny SG copy. I bought it with the intention of having Strange Brew from ETSG give it a "Fool" paint job on my of my trips over to England. Could never make the meeting happen, as he's down in Portsmouth and I rarely venture out of London when I'm there. So, instead I stripped the red poly, re-shaped the body and horns, plugged the tailpiece holes, and painted it Pelham Blue. It's got all good stuff now. Bigsby B-5, '57 Classic and Classic+ pickups, Luxe Grey Tiger caps, and RS pots. It seems to be my "beater" SG, as I always play it, and it spends quite a bit of time in cars when I get a chance to jam with my so-called band.
