The Marshall Origin 50H Thread:

Glad to hear the positive reviews and your demo sounded great too.
I cant make much sense of the pcb amp circuit.

Could just be the lighting in the last picture, but
If that is a white crusty coating on the tube getter flash, the glass envelope vacuum has failed.

Thought I would create a thread for this amp and kick things off with some photos of the internal workings....Sharp eyes will enjoy these photos. I see several things about the way this amp is wired. To my eye, it appears to be cathode biased.

Thoughts on the circuits???

You have a bad output tube.
The tube with white coating inside has lost it's vacuum, and needs to be replaced.

*This type damage usually happens from shipping. Not a problem with the actual tube. Too much shock and vibration can damage the glass.

Bias: probably grid biased in 50 watt mode.
Low power mode might be Class A cathode bias....but hard to tell without schematics.
It is really only guessing what the circuit actually consists of.

But I would like to take it apart and draw the schematic....

Probably the single best decision on gear i have ever made...

A 34 pound 2x12 cabinet that fits easily in my trunk.

This has got to be the best sounding rig I have ever owned. There's an articulation and definition in the amp that I wasn't hearing with my DSL40C's.

I think I'm producing more gain now than I was with my DSL40C's, but its much more organic. The harmonized effect of the 80 watt Stealth and the 100 watt Tornado make each chord sonically interesting and complex. It's subtle, but its very much like two voices singing in harmony.

Jensen Neodymium speakers also sound broken in right out of the box, which is another very cool factor...

Showing the class of a great Marshall.
Cheers

This rig...the loudness is unbelievable...and yet, it doesn't hurt your ears, even 3 feet from the cabinet.

The Beam Blockers allow you to roll on more treble without shrillness. The highs become more balanced in the sonic spectrum.

The bass response is heavy and tight. You can feel the air coming off those two speakers.

The Neodymium speakers feel more dynamic and responsive than AlNicos or Ceramics. They also sound great from the minute you plug them in.

This rig is really super simple, but super good...

Welcome the Brotherhood of the Origin lol.

I spent alot of time last night trying to dial in my fancy JTM 45, decided to use the Origin and had a good tone in a minute. Simple, easy to use and not fussy.

Gotta love it.
