Bought this 2016 Gibson SG T Series brand new in 2017 for $749.00 and added $159.00 for a Gator Poly Case. The stock electronics buzzed and hummed like hell, to the point the SG wasn't playable live. So, i went through 3 sets of pickups - both Gibson's and after markets - plus a roll of copper tape and a custom 50's harness from Gary 'Tone Man' Standefer, (.015uf x .033uf) just to make it usable live and as an 'E-flat' guitar for my studio work.

I ended up putting a brand new Gibson 57 Classic Plus in the bridge along with a hybrid neck pickup made from a GFS baseplate, one coil from a shorted Gibson Burstbucker Pro and one coil from a Duncan JB with a polished Alnico V magnet, flipped for 180°out-of-phase operation in the middle position.
I used this on a few recordings in the studio where I work and for some live performances, but I could just never bond with it. The Gibson 57 Classic Plus - while a great pickup - doesn't produce much gain at all. It's basically a slightly hotter version of a low out PAF, but it just lacks the punch of a 498T.
So, the SG spent most of it's time being played by students and even more time just sitting in its case. I tried selling it here in TTR and on Reverb for $700.00, then $650.00, finally dropping the price down to $500.00 with no interest whatsoever.
I got quite a few offers here in the $350.00-$375.00 range and was pretty much told the same guitar can be had "all day long" at Guitar Sinner for that price.
I didn't feel like taking that great a loss was sensible, so I just left it in its case and let it gather dust.
Money has been unusually tight for us lately. Our Son got laid off and we co-signed for his lease, so we had to assume that $1,500.00/month expense, plus the funeral for my wife's Dad in April and some philanthropic work getting fresh water wells running for a couple of villages in Leon, Nicaragua. All extra expenditures have had to be abruptly curtailed.
Yet simultaneously, I grew weary of trying to make room in my modest studio. Three guitars is about my limit, so a 4th, plus a bass, just takes up too much room.
So, i loaded the storage compartment with all the original paperwork, a set of Graphtec Locking Tuners with adapter plates, and shipped it deep into the swamp to a home for lost and homeless Gibson's.
I hope maybe someone will find it, bond with it and give it a good home...
