The holy grail of gear

I'm actually lucky enough to own my grail: a 1979 Les Paul Custom Silverburst.

Beyond that, If I could have any one piece of gear that would qualify as a personal grail, it would have to be a 1977 Les Paul Custom. The mid/late '70s Customs are my favorite guitars ever - the combination of features, especially the maple neck, just does it for me.
My wine red is a 76....?

Dunno. Must think.
Rik Emmett's Framus would be cool but he sold it.

Easy answer. Head up to 67Plexi's house and grab his '58 Flying V and one of his Trainwrecks.

Otherwise, I think I already have most of the Holy Grail stuff. Some sweet Marshalls, Hiwatts, Fenders, Gibsons, Rickenbackers, and custom made amps and guitars.

:celebrate2:

ok, my turn.
This is going to sound strange coming from me.
But here it goes.

I'd want Paul McCartney's Hofner.
To me its just super iconic and it would be cool to own his bass. Or a Hofner autographed by him would be a close second.
I hope none of the other metalheads here see this.
I am down with that. Being a bass player always wanted to try one. They seem fast & maybe could be punchy in an Ampeg.

Hey look what i am doing to a Casino, into a Mesa Recto...wonder if the Beetles would of used it that way..

Maybe you found the next metal bass craze..

I wouldn't say no to a Dumble ODS...
So researching D-syle clones right now.. Big Larry Carlton fan & am startting to grasp by learning my Mesa better how pushed clean is such a fat tone when din context & the OD seems so precise. on the ODS. More of heavier player but my best tone has always been a Super Reverb just on the edge & its hard to put the g-tar down when you are in that zone

I do want Diezel Herrbert amp other than that Im pretty happy with what i got….

I want more Vs tho…

I want so many that I creat my own alphabet

So i can match my tops ( you know you all love my tops so much) … :victoire:

Then it will be hot as bbq fire ( once its lit)

A 1971 Gibson Medallion Flying V, Michael S. , KK Downing had them.
Very rare and collectable.
Nothing like Greeny now owned by Kirk.

The 59 les paul Jimmy page got from Joe Walsh would be cool.
A original echo plex. Maybe Neve
console ?
Medallion V for the win !

Okay, there is something that I would like to have, though I would probably never actually use it nor would I have a place to put it and I wouldn't even really want to spend the money on it....

...anyway...

I would like to have either a Marshall Plexi full stack or a Marshall JCM800 full stack.

I know, I know...it's totally cliche and predictable for a guitar player to say that. But, they intrigue me...for some reason...

I love mine, even if it is technically a couple of years away from being a true Plexi. It still has the same circuit. The Lead Bass speakers are awesome! Especially the top cabinet with 55Hz Greenbacks.

'76 works too, they have basically the same neck as the '77's, before they got super-thin. Don't get me wrong, the neck on m '79 is the fastest-playing I have ever had on any guitar, Les Paul or otherwise, but that little bit of extra beef on the '76/'77 ones is so comfortable to play for long periods. I said '77 initially because my first LP was a '77 and I am kind of sentimental about that year only for that reason.

I haven't really checked or compared, I know I like thinner necks like the 60s slim taper on the Classic. I find thick necks give me hand hurts before long. But when I rotate usually 3 guitars per show each might get an hour or less spread out over the evening so not that much of a biggie.
