Oh i will never give them up..never the ones i kept..they just fight with my wife's voice..as we were looking at the mixs.. stumbled on the Super..was getting close to jtm45..but every time i have a Gibson into a Marshall i go bombastic..lol.. it happened last year..made 4 songs mid CD that pushed J right out of the mix..i was frustrated cause speed was the only thing i could do to enhance the heaviness & i was burning out musically..the lyrics where getting angry..everything seemed to just be nasty. which 20 years ago..that was business as usual for us..lol

I found the older I get the less I like to listen to the really loud thrash music. I still do, but much less than before. As a player it's always been clean for me with the slightest touch of mild break up. No chugging and no heavy distortion. I just don't like it. I've started leaning toward a progressive/psychedelic sound. I've always loved Gilmour and I've been looking for music of that nature.

I recently discovered Porcupine Tree, Pineapple Thief and Still Corners. That's where I'm leaning right now...

I love the voice of the girl in Still Corners!

it is so hard for me..cause do have a metal meltdowns..quite often..but it doesn't last as long. I think this go round..kinda wanna be in a less violent-non hostile band scene. 2016 before the accident..we were crossing over to multi genre events..the crowds..even the pay was better. Kinda was fun, couple rock bands..some r&b..some indy..more of a festival atmosphere. We started to hold the shows & it was working.

Cool stuff BFT, I must be winding down a bit, but I am still a big Priest fan and that style of music is always going to come out in what I play, it just isn’t going to go away!

me too..,JP-sabbath-AC/DC-Zep- ect took me thru life..then i enjoyed the next wave..metallica-Slayer-era.,literally comes out of my guitar soon as i plug in....but soon as the guitar became the 2nd bass player & cookie showed up on vocals..i just couldn't relate..i get invited to my friends concerts...just don't go anymore,,ABR if they play with Everytime I die..i will go.my kids listen,,i tell em turn it up or dont play it all..lol...but maybe its the music we related to..i get my kids like the new stuff..like Korn..its all the lyrics about a dark & depressive society..we grew up in rock n roll all night party every day stuff..we didnt shoot each other cause a wrong stare..or make political correctness the BS forced way of life ..or relevant truth...we went to work..payed our bills & minded our own business..where this came from? oh..i just watched the news & wanted to puke,,,back to the bandroom...life is sane there..

I still listen to all that old stuff, just less than before and I try and add new music every time I get a chance.

I have the grand kids listening to Black Sabbath, AC/DC, Alice Cooper and such...they love it!
 
I stared off listening to the Monkees, graduated to the Beatles, then to Led Zepplin, Alice Cooper, Deep Purple, Back Sabbath etc. Around age 15 I got turned on to Jazz like Stanley Clarke, Weather Report, Billy Cobham, John McLaughlin etc. For the past decade or so it's been all about the blues for me.

I really didn’t get in to the bluesy stuff until about 8 years ago

Day Dream Believer was my first 45..i used to sing in front of the mirror to it over & over,,....go Monkees !!
 
last 5 songs we just did was trying dif things.really focusing on putting the vocals out front...next weeks one..letting loose & getting some serious guitar driven stuff goin..the house has been a rockin last few dayz....started this song while messing with the drums.. with this primal drum beat..nothing like a repetitive kick & double toms to start a song off with & we just got to feature the LPJ p90..lets see what it can do..its does something.in the mids...is it a snarl maybe ? as you strike it & slash it..it likes abuse...a/b'd it against the regulars ..it took the feature spot in the song
