The ebony fretboard guitar picture thread...

My '91 Gibson SG Special came with a lovely ebony fret board. No recent pics of it yet but you can see in my avatar and signature. My other guitar is an 1989 Yamaha RGX Custom with a beautiful ebony FB with real crystal inlays and Jim Dunlop jumbo frets. I paid over $2,000 for the guitar not including the hard shell case brand new back then.

Black, that Yamaha is sweet !

I like your Jackson IvanH!! Nice axe.
Thanks Session 5. Its an Indonesian made (Pro Soloist) model, but quite well made. Mahogany body, neck through & came stock with Duncan distortions. Shielded cavities are stock. Came with a good set up out of the box. The only thing I've done was to shim the bridge saddles (E, A, B, E) to better match the neck radius. Cheers

Finally, here's a shot of my Taylor acoustic with ebony fretboard showing the streaking and the overall brownish color Bob Taylor mentions in the video above.

Kudos to Bob Taylor for drawing attention to this issue and daring to use the "imperfect" ebony.
