I never saw either show, but a friend rented a house to one of the smaller bit actors from Homicide.
I sure would not have minded making the kind of cash that guy made. Not sure even how many episodes or how much air time he had, but in the few months he was renting, rumor had it he got paid something like $300K in salary.
Oh and in case anyone does not know the reputation Baltimore has, even Hollywood likely made it seem pretty rough in those shows. The real stories are even darker than the worst Hollywood can conjure, as the Justice system has gone FUBAR.
