"Amateurs practice until they get it right. Professionals practice until they can't get it wrong."
I don't think this is suggesting that a professional can never make a mistake, but I think it's pointing out that a professional practices until the correct way is normative and instinctual and mistakes become more and more rare and superficial.
Either way, it's changed how I approach practicing and preparing for music.
