Thanks for the welcome!

I feel you on the EMGs though. There have been few of their active sets that I really liked over the years. I saw that you like the Fishmans and damn if those aren't the opposite. I haven't heard any Fluence pickups yet that I don't like.

Basically I love the premise of active pickups but dont care for that overamped tone. I used to play a lot of heavy stuff, but not anymore, and I've found that I really prefer to hear the actual string itself now (hard to explain beyond that) and be able to color that with the amp or pedals. Pickups need to be dynamic for me since I control the volume by playing harder or softer generally. Those Fluence pickups certainly do that well. :poo:...they seem to do anything well.

Yeah, I was out on Fishmans at first simply due to all the over-hype. Then I got my Pro H7 and... wow... love them. The EMG's have always sounded a bit thin/sterile to me and seem to accent frequencies my ears just don't appreciate. The ones in this Arrow (standard 81/85 set) seem to work well with my Axe FX. I'm presuming it's due to the added bass response the guitar body provides, but that's certainly not a scientific determination.

You mean for that guy or in general? I dont really know the dude, Ive just happened to be at a place he played a couple of times. I know what Lace Alumintones look like, I have a set, and he was playing a 7 string, so later I put two and two together and realized it was the Deathbuckers. Dont make me do anymore math, please.

:ROFLMAO: Oh, I thought you meant "here" as in the ToneRooms... ha. I'll check out the vid. Personally, I love Elysian pickups, and I'm pretty sure Adam offers a similar pickup.
