I've done covers of 'Crossfire' before, but always struggled to nail Stevie's solos note for note. It has been suggested that I just throw down the solos in my natural, uneducated Neanderthal style, so we got together in a garage (tractor shed) and recorded this in a single take. This was recorded while other employees/family were walking in and out and sharp ears will hear a leaf blower running in the background near the end of the second solo. Recorded and presented as-is, with all mistakes...
Enjoy...or at least be nauseated....
This isn't a great recording, but it's average (I think) for a bar band. It's still tough for me to play and sing, even a blues number with vocals coming in between the guitar lines.
Yellow Strat (bridge position DiMarzio Neanderthal 16.5k 44AWG AlNico 9 Humbucker) direct into Blackstar ID-Core 100 with no FX other than Reverb
