Thanks..She went in peace....the Mesa is what i was looking for. Didn't even switch guitars or cabs...just did rhythm & then leads.. didn't even move the mic's..my gosh its insane sounding in the room..,..so much crisp punch,,The Epi has the stock Alnico pickups in it..need to borrow your invader pickup guitar..lol

Completely digging the definition of the guitars on this one!
I’m hoping to listen to side A in it’s intended order...it is complete now?
Side A ..when i get back. Will be mixed, then mastered.

It stinks cause of no singer yet but its time to move on. The Mesa just sits there tight where it belongs..when i mic'd the V30 & t75(china) went into ISO room, was floored how that bottom sat right where it needed but did not flub.

Just think 1 year ago..posted the thread.. Can a dummy learn pro tools? lol...you my friend have helped me get through life being stuck at home & not being able to play in a band by encouraging me & mentoring in those first few months..i am forever grateful to you !!

The dual capsule DX2 is just to right of the cone about 2" off grill to match the exact distance the R144 is off at center of capsule..on center( have it on the an angle about 30 degrees pickup up the the speaker about 1/2" from center of cone to the right
I’m still learning the DX2....I’ve been fairly happy so far...but the 421, and my good old AT4033 have not been a challenge....so they’ve won the duties lately....along with my Fat Head ribbon...that one has been great on acoustic...gotta throw it in front of a cab...it should do great!

I think the DX2 is my version of a 57..or at least i use it that way. tend to run it strait up with that capsule facing the knob a hair under the center of cone & the other capsule might be a hair higher away from the center. real quick it became my reference with the GAP 73 set with no gain levels but just using the other knob to hit -18.

look how ya got me talking shop in a year..lol

Where do you keep the knob set?... any preference?

Looking at it, being able to read the letters right. it is pointed at the the first line, to left of center.

And, that only happened because i bumped it way back when by mistake. I am afraid to touch it for fear the mojo or luck i am experiencing will run out,lol
Thanks! That’s approximately where I’ve been living...I’ll try pulling it back a bit....I appreciate the lesson! :)

I would love to come hang with you & talk recording & mess with stuff all day. There is more to the sounds we all chase,,than just the amp ..guitar..speaker...
We’d have a blast!....I’m sure. I’m kinda bummin without my old Vic Firth iso-headphones....makes mic placement more of an instinctive thing without them. I guess I just don’t have the “instinct“ for the DX2. The Fat Head though?....I’m diggin it....very instinctive.

def have found out..we all have an individual preference . once we come to trust our mic & monitor source..its hard to vary. those flat line..nuetral or base line tones..they are burned in our brains as a place to compare other sources to.
