Student's Guitar:

Hey, Ladies and Gents...

Need your Luitherly advice. One of my students has an Epi L.P. and he stepped on the cable and broke the jack out of it.

I have several plates here, and all are 1" square. But his guitar has a smaller screw pattern - about .950" across. The plate is the correct dimensions, but the pattern is smaller.

I pulled a nickel Gotoh off my pegboard and only one screw will align. Drilling would result in (3) figure 8 holes.

I could use a metal Explorer jackplate, but the curvature is wrong for a Les Paul.

I can also drill, insert glued plugs and redrill the holes.

What's your recommendation???

I got a 1" Gotoh nickel in stock. But the screw pattern.....is there a plate with screw holes on .950" centers?

One specified for Epiphone should be right. i suspect your Gotoh is for Gibson

drill new holes and use the one ya got.i put a Gibson one one a Epi LPC i had.

Or ya like Don said im sure theres plenty of them on ebay or somethin for cheapnifbyou wanted to keep it Epi or Metric or what ever it is.

the holes are not quiet a 1" apart,prolly a hair under 15 / 16ths

Good eye, Goo...Epiphone plate screws are on 23mm centers and my Gotoh plates are 24.5mm.

Guitar Sinner had one on the wall. Guitar fixed. Happy kid.
