This is a street band in Santiago, Chile covering Deep Purple's Highway Star.

They do a nice job at it. Actually, considering they're just a three piece, without any keys, they do an impressive job.

Enjoy!

Yea they did!
Love that song, and for a 3 piece, they killed it. (That's good)

My last band used to play this song, and it was always my favorite. The two guitars together were a big part and made it fun for me. This street band jammed!

Loved it Smitty! I've tried to do this several times in various groups only to be thwarted by others lack of ability or interest to actually learn the various changes (walk ups, break timing etc etc) that make the song sound so tight & right! I hate me sloppy pretensious playing in front of an audience & mucho prefer to be serious & give an exacting tribute to the brlliance of the artists that made songs like this si awesome in the first place. Half-a$$in $#it just pisses me off & is lazy & unacceptable. These guys did a nice job. And look at the drum kit.

I used to do the Keyboard part on guitar too but didn't like resorting to go to tapping to pull that section off although both ways are equally cool. It actually feels pretty intuitive & right on guitar. I'm sure that Deep Purples Keyboards being run through Marshal tube amps helped in that regard.

Just a great song that still kicks a$$ today from their Machine Head album in,.. are you ready for this??.... "1974"!!!

Yeah, I noticed the small drum set, too! Not too shabby of a performance for such a small set...quite nice, in fact. The drummer did a good job on those vocals, too. When I first began watching this I was curious to see how well he'd get those Ian Gillan screaming parts. I'd say he didn't do a bad job, at all!

I got a kick out of the bass player jammin' away on that big Jazz bass.

Nicely done on all counts.

This just makes me want to play! What a supremely motivating song.
Even Tony had a great start to his day after watching & listening.

I even had the funny idea to multi track this song ala Aldo Nova style. That would be real fun!

Rock On

But i must admit that i like the band from Chile better - to me they were closer to the power of the "reference" (i.e. the Made In Japan version). It would be really interesting to here them in an recording technically as good as the 2nd example.
