Found this harness in a box of my new take-outs.

500k pots, two tones, one master volume.

How can I make this work with my dual humbuckers???

Here's my plan for the 5 positions on the switch:

1. Bridge humbucker
2. Outside coils of both humbuckers
3. Both humbuckers on full
4. Inside coils of both humbuckers
5. Neck humbucker

I found a diagram, but I am not sure my current switch will support it and a 24 pole switch might not fit in my cavity...

I would also need some help working out the colors.

Thoughts on this???

The only issue i see is if the 24pole would fit or not, it certainly seems the same dimension wise as a normal 5 way, only wider. If so heres what i found ( seems like the 24 pole is what you need for what youre after, else you wont be able to split the coils in the manner you want)color_codes-809x1024.jpgScreenshot_20201228-160418.png

From what i could pull up, either the Oak-Grigsby 5way 4 pole or Fender Super Switch would be the ones you'd need to split coil H/H set ups in a 5 way configuration. They can also be used on a multitude of other configurations such as S/S/S, H/S/S, H/S and even H/H/H.

I installed a 4 way switch on a Tele in configuration with a Seymour Duncan JB jr humbucker and Seymour Duncan STR-1 single coil. The Oak- Grigsby/ Fender Super Switch in hindsight might've been a better option as i really would've liked to the coil tap the JB jr and created a S/S/S option. As it stands, it goes 1) Bridge Humbucker 2) Parallel Bridge Humbucker and Neck Single Coil 3) Neck Single Coil 4) Series Bridge Humbucker and Neck Single Coil. It creates a louder, fuller sound in the series 4th position, but a 5 way super switch couldve added another element there.

Might go back and redo this again sometime!

@ivan H - Does the first diagram look legit to you????
Yes. Using the 5 way 4 pole switch schematic kindly supplied by @Clockworkmike, it all checks out. It's a little hard to see the markings on Pole D as they've used a pale yellow/peach type color, but if you look carefully they can be seen. Maybe it's my eyes are kinda fuzzy this morning after a big night. Cheers

Thanks for checking this out...

I was concerned about all those poles that are hooked together!!!

This was another schematic I found at DiMarzio but i noticed it doesnt quite fit with what you want at all, its actually quite strange, more like isolating 2 humbuckers into a traditional S/S/S setup almost. Id rather have it the way you are plotting and have found honestly, in that it allows 2 humbuckers to be used together, this doesnt at any time it seems.

These type "super switches" allow some really creative pickup configurations to be wired. When wiring them up, we just need to be sure to orient the switch as shown in the (proofed) diagram, then follow the wiring to a tee & all will be fine. A mistakenly oriented switch when wiring, or a mistake in the wiring could lead to mucho problemo. Cheers
