Cool that you are working on a Black Out! I'm working on one as well. I have a Black Body and Neck. I'm ordering everything Black. I mean EVERYTHING! Bridge, Trem, Tuners...everything! I'd get black strings if I could find them!

That was a 45$ affinity, I put a bit of parts I liked on it
And as Steve said it could crunch some raunch with the best.
And clean up and go to a wedding.

My first guitar was a Strat Affinity Mitch. It was well made, IMO best guitar out there for the money in its class. A good starter and beyond. Mine was black and white with rosewood fretboard.

Hey lets get my first thread kicking; Need some input. recenty got into some strat tones. Have fender mim Jimmy Vaughn tex mex loaded & mim 07 HSS stock ceramic. Just won a body on Ebay & picking up a neck tomorrow,,,bounce some suggestions my way. JV has the classic tone covered & HSS ceramic got the lil hotter thing covered ,

A no name body, but mightymite neck and squire standard electronics, with the exception of a a SD invader in the bridge.

I painted the body with rustoleam paint from Home Depot, it was full of stickers and graffiti, when it was given to me , with no neck or electronics.

Cool. What did you use for pickups - are those no-screw humbuckers from Anderson? I have an H2; it sounds good and splits remarkably well.
