Hey lets get my first thread kicking; Need some input. recenty got into some strat tones. Have fender mim Jimmy Vaughn tex mex loaded & mim 07 HSS stock ceramic. Just won a body on Ebay & picking up a neck tomorrow,,,bounce some suggestions my way. JV has the classic tone covered & HSS ceramic got the lil hotter thing covered ,

What is your final out come tone to be? I have 2 hss strats with invaders, they cover the down tuned sludge quite awesome, the sd 59 neck does wonders in the bridge, my MIM has a jbjr in the bridge, and a hotrails in the neck, does Trower and down right dirty when yo want it.
Cheers Mitch

I surely like their sound, I just can’t seem to get the groove with one...Had one for maybe a year and got my first LP...That was all she wrote for me..:oops2:
I was the same way ---I had MANY squire strats -- couple lotus strats---one or 2 no names-- nothing STUCK-----then I went on a pilgrimage --I decided --I would FIND MY STRAT----
took several months lurking in dark alleys--- music shops in central Fl (replay in Tampa for instance) pawn shops --- and finally (IF YOU HAVENT BEEN you need to make the drive up I-4 to Auburndale FL ---yes AUBURNDALE --- to JIMMYS VINTAGE MUSIC-----)

After an hour or so fondeling all sorts of strats there---- vintage-- USa -- high dollar stuff-- Jap strats-- mexican strats-- newer ones-- older ones-- ones I couldnt afford if I sold a kidney-----I literlly was about to leave and I tripped over a white, mim ....not in great shape....had a weird discoloration on the fret baord....missing trem arm....missing back plate---- I missed that one when I came in ------hhmmmmm........ 1 single barre chord strum----- I WAS HOOKED----

I have some of those stacked Seymour Duncan's, and like them quite a bit. I have the real hot output metal style.

It's so cool when you go to play with someone new, they see a Stratocaster with singles and expect a clean scooped sound. Then you lay into a power chord, or rip off a heavy riff and they hear that tone the first time.

It's kinda like "hi everyone my name is STEVE " With a capital STEVE lol.
