Strapped

4" wide piece of leather from the local saddle shop in 1979. Cost $20. He punched the holes for free. Works on any Stratocaster shaped object. No adjustment needed. I got one for SSO and one for SG/EDS-1275/Destroyer all with Straplocks.

There is s guy on E-Bay who will sell you a piece of leather cheap and cut the holes wherever you want them...

OK, if you didn't like my first suggestion.
How about one of these, each time you use it you'd think of me ;-)

Found two for you to choose between at local music shop today.
Both up your street.
On left, "You have to go on and be crazy. Craziness is like heaven.” Jimi Hendrix quote.
On right, "Be realistic, demand the impossible". Che Guevara quote.

These aren’t cheap but they are by far the most comfortable straps I’ve ever used. I’m playing with the idea of making straps as a hobby business when I retire. I started checking around looking for reviews of straps and these came up with a lot of good reviews so I ordered one to see what they were like. I have not bought another strap since. Great name too. Be sure to read the feedback. Some of his replies are hilarious.

Well-Hung Guitar Accessories

I have a poly-woven strap with the leather ends. They are nice for adjustability and for how nicely they fold up in a guitar case. But, I find that they are more slippery than the underside of many leather straps, so they'll slide more if you have a guitar with any amount of neck dive.

I just bought a very nice, all-leather strap for my Les Paul Studio.

It's made in Canada by a company called, "Perri's".

I bought it at the local Guitar Center for only $35.00.

It is a rather thick leather strap. So, it may be challenging to work it on and off strap buttons if they have a wide flange. You won't need your Grolsch seals!

As an alternative to that, I've bought thinner leather straps by Planet Waves for around the same or a little less money.

Same ones I use for my Les Pauls. Super-well made Canadian leather at a shockingly low price. I use Perri's nylon straps for my lighter guitars - also great quality at a low-ish price.
