Stranded!!

So I drove my wife to a doctor's appointment. In her car. It's a Dodge Journey. It has a push button start.

I dropped her off at the front door of the clinic, and went and parked.

Then after a while, because they have no smoking allowed on the premises, I drive to a nearby Safeway so I could have a cigarette, pull into a parking spot and shut the car off.

Now I suddenly realize that she took her key fob with her, facepalm.gif and now I can't start the car to go pick her up.

So she's walking, unless one of you guys know how to get this damned thing started without having the fob...

Deep :poo: :poo:.

The only way to do it is start the car, and pull / unplug the security system box out of the dashboard.
Then it goes into "failsafe" mode.

Good think you didn't leave your phone locked in too... THAT would have been one for the books!

That's kinda how things happen for me too. Like they say, when it rains, it pours.

Today did turn into a bit of a clusterfuck but it all worked out in the end...so now I'm gonna kick back with my favorite bubbler and try to continue learning the DAW (that's code for 'hide from the wifey')

In all seriousness though, she was pretty chill about it, all things considered lol
...and now I think it's a little funny too. Plus, we learned a lesson here today, I think.

We're all good now.

A chivalrous guy would have walked to where she was, got the fob, walked back to the car and then drove to get her :rolf:
Do stuff like that too many times, and then they start expecting it every time ;)

Also, had our littlest with me and I didn't pack the stroller with us because we weren't supposed to be walking anywhere far....until I drove away from the clinic...

As you can see, I didn't think it through even a little bit :ROFLMAO:

Well....she made it to Safeway. Not too happy, mind you, but we're now on the road towards home.

If you guys never hear from me again.....it was her!

Lol

UMM, I think I would have offered to quit smoking and now you see why I only like OLD cars with real keys etc. Wife and Husband can keep their own key and you can get extra copies for backups. I flat out hate what new cars have come to. HELL, my stepdaughter used to have a Mazda 3 that did not even have lock cylinders for a trunk, passenger doors etc. WTF

No I get ya, I don't like these newer vehicles either. She chose that damn Dodge lol.. The newest vehicle I own is my '04 Silverado and I'm the only person who gets to drive it :p

My driver is an ‘01 Audi A6, and I also have an '05 Honda Element. They are more high tech than I would like. I keep telling my wife that my next car will be pre ‘65. At least my Harley has proper analog properties, as it’s a ‘59. I want no more semiconductors in my vehicles. Points and condenser über alles!
