Oh wow! I honestly thought MT Power Kit was Windows only, and never really looked at it since I came back on Mac....silly me...

It's great bro, actually can edit note by note.

Seems to be modeled after EZ Drummer.

Dloading the mapping feature is what opened it up for me.

EZ drew me in with their kit sounds. I really liked the sample sound quality, and a few of the kits. the fact that MT easily maps to EZ is brilliant...I will definitely be downloading in the near future, to give it a go.

I finally gave in and bought the latest version, my old one dates from 2005/6 and only used Sound Fonts, not VSTi plugins. You have to be aware that the basic $100 package is pretty limited on the Real Tracks, they want you to buy the extras or spend $600 on the whole caboodle.

I'm lucky that very little has changed over the years and all the styles from the older versions still work and I'm happy using MIDI output and a VSTi.

Wow, didn't know that.

Not going to be putting that kind of long cash out for what is basically a plugin.

Thanks for the heads up, time to do a little in depth research.

It "records" a midi note, that note is then played through the program that makes it a "drum" sound.

The track would be set up as a midi track, but has the capability to drag whole drum phrases into your recording track, which you put together.

But it def doesn't have to be a one note at a time.

If you download it, it won't hog your resorces, you should be able to see what I mean.

I'd be happy to put aside a night to walk you through my method. It takes just minutes to create a whole song, then go back , if you want to edit change up different part, but it even has whole fills for each type of drum "groove" you pick.

Check out the video, I'll try to help as much as I can, but am no expert.

But, I do get acceptable results. It really is easy once you figure out how the program "thinks" Can be as simple or complicated as you wish to make it.

You definitely don't have to do it one note at a time.

Appreciate that! Ill look into this thing. Im still ultra green and naive with recording and editing in general honestly, only recently began dabbling into it. I always just played guitar along to tracks and in a band years ago, but i began messing with recording to just hear myself played back and pin point mistakes

Me too, I've had a lot of help from some great guys. One in particular.

Love to be able to provide back some of the help given to me.

Had one of our members answering my questions in between songs at band practice! Now there's a great forum bro!

Like I said , check out the video, download it, and we'll try to walk you through. If it's not for you, go ahead and can it and delete the VST.

But if I can use it, it's def fool proof, if you catch my meaning lol.
 
Until this COVID-s#!tshow, I’ve enjoyed having a human drummer at my disposal to record with, so I haven’t had much need for any detailed drum VSTi stuff.
I suck at drums, and I’m a lefty drummer to boot. The human drummer gets really upset when I flip his kit to lefty.
So...these drum programs are way better than my old drum machine...or mopping his tears from my studio floor after he re-sets his kit ;)
