It "records" a midi note, that note is then played through the program that makes it a "drum" sound.
The track would be set up as a midi track, but has the capability to drag whole drum phrases into your recording track, which you put together.
But it def doesn't have to be a one note at a time.
If you download it, it won't hog your resorces, you should be able to see what I mean.
I'd be happy to put aside a night to walk you through my method. It takes just minutes to create a whole song, then go back , if you want to edit change up different part, but it even has whole fills for each type of drum "groove" you pick.
Check out the video, I'll try to help as much as I can, but am no expert.
But, I do get acceptable results. It really is easy once you figure out how the program "thinks" Can be as simple or complicated as you wish to make it.
You definitely don't have to do it one note at a time.
