SS Amps

My Quilter 101r gets used for electric guitar, acoustic guitar, and bass. It is very loud, very light, and you don't have to worry about speaker impedance. It takes a while to figure out how to use the controls. The mids are active. The limiter totally changes depending on the other settings. Once you find your tone it sounds the same at all volumes.

I've loved and played both.

I've been a champion for both teams at one point or another, the "price and simplicity of the SS"... "The raw and organic warmth and breakup from valves"....

After years of rolling tubes and learning how much "better" tube amps are than any SS amps....I'm not 100 percent sure I agree with that.

There are crappy SS heads and crappy Tube heads ... There are amazing SS heads and amazing Tube heads..

At the end of the day I think the best tube heads sound maybe a little bit better than the best SS heads. Is that tiny bit worth the $$$???

I can play either one and be completely happy as well.

My humble 2 cents worth
