Squier Strat

Thanks Steve, the set up works good . There are no other parts so the volume seems to have a good range, I did not install this myself.

I had a guy that has a little backyard shop do a set up on the guitar. I brought him the pickup and pickguard because I had it laying around but I forgot what pot is in it. I am sure it’s 500k

Serious question, though. While I can spell the brandname, I'm genuinely unsure how it's *meant* to be pronounced. Even at guitar shops I've heard both. I say "Squeer", though plenty do seems to say "Squire", adding to the confusion. I think I do so mainly to differentiate from the Fender "Esquire" of which the pronunciation is clear.

It's pronounced skwy-ur. Just as if were spelt "squire."

Please tell me you are pulling our proverbial leg.

Bruh, I wasn't criticizing the instrument at all - of all my Fender guitars, a MIM is my #1! I was giving you a little poke on the spelling of the brand in the thread title... Well, it was intended as a friendly poke but reading it back I see how that got a bit misconstrued. If I wanted to poke fun at cheap guitars I'd take a hard look at my latest acquisition, that MIC Gretsch... :rolf:

I'm not much of a Strat guy either. In my hands a Strat always sounds exactly like a Strat which is a nice thing for the right application but it's a bit limiting. The range of tones I can get from a Tele are astounding in comparison despite the limited controls and lack of a third pickup. Different horses for different courses. I certainly wouldn't want to be Strat-less when I want 'that' sound.
