split it or tap it ?? as long as you hit it

You guys make me feel lazy with all these gallery level pics. I never bother to take decent shots. I even got a new phone with a crazy camera and it still hasn't changed my laziness.
I just like to hang out in my backyard when the weather starts to get nice…I have to survive amongst the beasts while cleaning and adjusting my axes…well…changing strings and cleaning fretboards mostly…while being ravaged by turtles…

I've removed the tap/split from every guitar I've had that came with it. I really don't like the sound of either (split/tap) and the goofy push/pull pots are just one more thing to go wrong.

There is value in the simpler approach. I definitely admit that.

In fact, from time to time, I think the ideal guitar would be a simple, single-pickup guitar.

An SG Junior comes to mind....

I have only the one that I posted previously. I am not a fan, generally, of the split/tap thing…but on this one…it actually does something that I like. I couldn’t tell you why, but it does actually put out a pleasant tone…especially with the P90 in play. They’re just the factory pickups, with no modifications. If I were to change out the pickups, I’d probably ditch the split.

Epi LEs Paul classic Plain Top ....
Coil splitting and "phase" shift (thats what the website says) .....never use them though .....but it has them

The extra functions have all been removed from my LP Signature T and my 2017 Standard. Don't miss them at all. I'll revisit the concept when my 2 Moderns show up. I will try to give them an honest chance, but will most likely all end up stripped out and wired up 50s style.

Every now and then I pull the knob out ...... (I did last night for the hell of it) --- STOP IT I MEAN THE VOLUME KNOB to tap the coil!!!

man, uhm knobs -- taping .......hey........... what was I saying???????
