Nice playing, I enjoyed that - was it Thunderclap Newman to start?

But, I didn't like the pickup sounds much. I got the Shure 535s out for a careful listen and the playing was really nice, but the puppies sounded thin and very close to piercing (maybe just the right side of the line, but just).

Maybe it was the genre/expectation thing? The sound wasn't what I expected from a guitar looking like that? Not at all warm sounding to my ears. To end on a couple of positives: that guitar would cut through a band mix brilliantly; you couldn't complain about the pickups being muddy!

Sorry... Did I mention that the playing was really nice?
