YEs-- they do act "different" when the HUMAN they choose is gone -- I know mine do -- and Shannon's are little fury "basket cases" if she is gone for any length of time---

I have a Goose (Spot) that loves (really loves) to "cuddle" and be pet---I can tell you -- if you think goose down is soft in a pillow or blanket------try touching it ON A GOOSE--
the Misses and I truly "talk" to the animals and -- they do talk back
we have DOGS lounging and tearing up stuff in my office
