Sometimes, the rewarding moments are free!

Earlier, I was trying to teach George how to sit on my lap so that both of us were comfortable. He's a feral, but when my wife agreed to take him he immediately bonded with me. He always wants to sit on my lap, but can't figure out how to sit so that he can just chill out and not shred my legs. He's starting to get it now.

Excellent sir! Nice!
Mine was a failing rescue by my neighbor(picked from a shelter-stray/feral). She was not able to exist with another cat in their home. They asked if I was interested, and it turned out the cat was interested. We bonded immediately. She’s my constant shadow around the house. I “get” the shredding part too.

Very cool--

IS it not funny how they gravitate to certain members of the family ---My wife and I each have "our dogs" -- we did not intend that -- they chose who they prefer to follow--mind--and hang out with ---more than the other--
We have birds that adore me and "like" her and vice versa --- congrats on getting some NON leg shredding George time

Speaking of "shadows", My wife brought Boris home from a dumpster at the airport about 14 years ago. He was the most vile, evil creature to ever walk the earth. One night, after a 3:00 am knock down drag out, he decided that I was the alpha male, and I could be his pet human. He's been like velcro to me ever since. My wife says he's neurotic as all hell when I'm away for work. Even though he's become mostly deaf in his advanced age, he still knows when I pull into the driveway, and runs to greet me at the back door.
