I have once again agreed toi SOLDER (ugh)

Gang-- a friend of mine has "scored" a vintage 70's LOTUS Strat----FB sale--- 25.00 (yes TWENTY-FIVE)

it needs ---well --- THINGS --- I have offered as he is NEW to the guitar/gear life-----at the ripe old age of --well older than me--- and has recently encountered some medical issues and set backs (not mine to divulge) lets just say Brother needs a hand.

I have agreed to do the repairs/refureb/set up etc.

I will shell the $ for the tuners--- strat trem, block, saddles and bar--

input Jack

POSSIBLY some pups---pots (UGH--soldering) etc...

HOWEVER---if anyone here has any of these items--- lying around--- they might like to "contribute" to this project---

The work/build will be somewhat (you know me) documented and followed here on the forum-----

PLease post up here "whats ya gots" and we can converse on fitment etc.

Thanks in Advance-- hoping to make this a good solid player for him -- its ROUGH but its got SOLID bones and a GREAT feeling neck ----which will need frets dressed and polished---I even think the body is 1 solid piece of timber I see no joints or cracking in the paint to indicate multiply!!

oy..........

Thanks Ray-- I think the freightrs back andd forth are -- well tripeling the value of the guitar!@!!

I am most happy to do the work (soldering --grumble) here in da SWAMPS --- and keep it local so to speak

I noticed it will need a pick guard as well. --- black -- 10 hole strat style----

GM I THINK most of this is going to be "metric strat" compatible---but it was the 70's ---in JAPAN-- so ---er WHO KNOWS--

ALSO-- thoughts on the MISSING CHUNK by the neck pocket--- sand and soften and paint black??? or try and make ---glue-- fill sand -- a "plug" corner???? (seems wonky at best)
thoughts?

I don’t have any parts, but if you get enough stuff, I’ll solder up the components in the pick guard for you. You’ll then have to solder only the OUTPUT jack and guitar ground wire.

This way you’ll only have to ship a pickguard and small parts. I’ll pay postage back to you.

However, since Ray was first to make a “distance build” offer, the distinction should go to him if he’s still interested.
