Ok, many of you know that i am not a big fan of my own original work. However, I do think it is cool sometimes to listen to the original work of others, because it kind of gives you a peek into their musical selves. So a couple of days ago, I was warming up for a recording session and the producer recorded the outtake. It's a noisy track, because the ambient mic was open at the time this was recorded. He played it back and I threw down some improv solo work to the previously recorded track. I had turned the guitar volume down (it's a habit in the stuido) so the solo part of this is really weak, with guitar volume only about halfway up. This wasn't played to a click track, so the timing isn't spot-on either. Hell, my guitar wasn't even properly tuned!!!!

Anyways, I took the files home on thumbdrive and loaded it into Audacity and tried to throw some bass down along with the guitar passages. I normally wouldn't post this because it's such a rough thing, but members like @Ramo and @BFT Gibson have encouraged me to post a little bit of the kind of music I create when "nobody is listening" so to speak. I am told that our influences can be heard in the original music we create. Maybe you guys will hear something that I don't...

Here's the 2:36 outtake. Played on my Black Faux Paul Studio Mule For Hire (Epiphone H8BN Bridge 0.01uf Box Cap) through a Blackstar ID-Core 100 direct out to the floor.

It's certainly nothing to be proud of, but maybe I will turn this into an original song or something???

I'm a very 'directional' player, in that when it comes to just noodling around, my mind isn't very focused and i don;t really come up with anything. Guys will say, "Play something," and I am uneasy and just unfocused. But, put me in the chair with cans (we refer to being in the chair with headphones on as being "In Chains) and tell me, "Let's get a very Aldo Nova feel to this number," and I can come up with some pretty cool stuff. I am most at home in the studio. It has become my safe sanctuary I suppose.

Hey Rob that is sound of rock n roll , nice lead work . I want to hear more and stop putting yourself down, have you seen lil wayne or whatever his name is him play? They are many like him so dont put yourself down and be proud that you can creat music not many can.

I think, at least for me, when you have the opportunity to play so many great songs, it's hard to imagine writing something that is in that same league...

Damm Robert that is great, an old school 70’s flavor that never gets old. Fully understand your lead was volume down , but it fits so well, the Tipton in you sounds fantastic.
I would love to put some songs together with you..
