Some Kind of Gibson Response...

It sounds to me like they are entertaining the idea of, possibly, licensing some of their designs.
They also mention going after the overseas counterfeit makers(good luck with that).

Sounds to me like a bunch of circular gobble-die gook marketing crap---with NO acknowledgement OF the statements by Agnesi -- no denying OR accepting them--

I smell "back peddling" after they got their hat handed to em in Germany and shown the door---

and Im betting that is why no statement was made till now--- after the courts decision---
Had they WON in Germany --- that rabid lawsuit dog would be OFF THE CHAIN and in your face SNAPPING

-----this is a --we really didnt mean it sort of vibe -- like the Villian that got caught --- OOPS -- SORRY -- we just wanna play nice now--- its not OUR fault -- the OTHER guys started this ---not us -- BULLSPIT-- period--

Im not buying -- certainly not a new Gibson--- but then I wasnt in that market anyway ---

Sorry Gibbo -- not buying -- keep trying

So now what? They're gonna tell all of Southeast Asia to stop making guitars?
...and what exactly does "collaboration with boutique builders" mean anyway?

Maybe they should hire SG Lou to remind them how to make a decent guitar?
If I get some time this week I think I'll go try out a Taylor T5Z or a PRS Special.

Gibson can go scratch their collective a$$ with a broken bottle.
I don't give a flying f**k through a rolling donut what they do.

This is exactly my thoughts. Lost over the V design no less and now they don't have a leg to stand on.

I think you'll be surprised by the T5z. It's a super nice playing guitar and I love mine!

Yes. They lost in Europe. Plus, they received a huge amount of backlash here.

I don’t know what this holds for the Dean lawsuit.

I’m guessing they’re going forward with it, but trying to soften their tone.

I don't really know what to make of this...

There seems to be some dialect of corporate-ese in this.

This is good enough for me... a kinder, gentler Gibson... :victoire:

I root for Gibson everyday, despite their history of self-destructive ideas. A strong and successful Gibson company is beneficial to the whole guitar industry. Viva LA Gibson...

please do not misinterpret my dislike of the current leadership as dislike for GIBSON as a whole I own more gibsons than any other brand.

I dont care for the mismanagement-- mistakes and ATTITUDE of the current and recent past leadership ---and I am certainly NOT marching to the pawn shop to DUMP all my Gibbos to go buy a Dean or a Warwick/Framus tomorrow----

Hope Gibson can pull it out of the tail spin --- my lifetime warranties arent worth SHITE if they tank!!!!!

When I hit the big time, and Gibson makes my signature model Les Paul, it'll have $20 Epiphone H8BN/H6BN pickups...LOL

Customs in the first world nations are cracking down on the China counterfeit guitars they now give the buyer and seller 10 day's
to prove it is a legitimate guitar and then destroy the counterfeit guitar.
I got my 7 string guitar from a dealer it's real made in Poland but I had to deal with Homeland Security fill out more paperwork
my guitar cleared customs then a month later got a bill at 3% for the total cost of the guitar and shipping fees anything over $2500.00
is taxed. With the exception of importing a USA made product back to the USA. Last if you own a counterfeit guitar you can't sell it
The long arm of the law can bite you.

Here’s the actual Gibson response:

basically "we didnt start it the old boss did"

And Im betting the % of $ "collaboration" Gibson is asking of DEAN is what leveraged their desire to continue the ONGOING legal battle--and the Framus victory Im thinking gives fuel to that fire.

That’s similar to my take-away from this, too.

Also, extra BS Bingo points to you for your usage of the term “leveraged”!
