Yea, I really didn't know how people might react but I tossed the thread up anyway. Not sure if others buy sneakers.

F everything else, but I still take my jeans and shoes seriously in regards to being "stylish" anyway. I'm an old man now but I don't have to have a wife dress me yet. Thank God.

Those are nice boots BTW. That's taking things pretty seriously yourself I have to say. Lol. My shoes didn't even cost that combined and none were full price either. I suggest a sale! (y)(y)

Lol
I will wear a pair of tennis shoes out within a month so overall cost in a year ends u pretty high. Those boots can be fully rebuilt. I havnt pulled the trigger on that bran but have worn there machine made for years but cost is still $300 a pair

i PREFER

Red Wing work boots i wore for years, tried all kinds of others that were garbage, I wear orthotics in my shoes worked 8-12 hours a day on concrete and ashphalt . Red Wing were the only ones that gave me enough comfort to last the day. Only one thing make sure they are made in America their offshore stuff is junk! I had one pair told the guy where i bought them , he said yes we have had some complaints about the ones from China.

Adrian and i have discussed Red Wing boots in the past.. I had to change mine every 6 months to get maximum benefit. Those who do not suffer with pain in your feet, you would get at least a year if not longer with a pair of boots.

Stay away from the Asian made boots by Red Wing .. Here is some of the names..

With the above information and being a worldwide company, they have definitely grown to a point that not all styles are made in the United States. Some of their brands such as Irish Setters, Vasque, and WORX are produced in mostly Asian counties such as Vietnam, Cambodia, and the Republic of China.

There are some nice work boots out there but I have to admit I never did much for REALLY putting these things to the test. I remember helping guys build and inground pool I had to walk an industrial style wheelbarrow across a 2x6 severely flexing plank to get a dump into the actual pool. That kinda work is a mother-phucker and I commend you guys for that after so many years. I've never just up and wore something out in a month or so.

I splurge once ever few years on sneakers, maybe. This was a time. Chances are they wont even look worn until a quite a long time. These are not what I'd used for a "work boot" anyway.

@WavMixer: those just have serious comfort written all over them. Plain to see. :)

For shoes I have been wearing Saucony for years, they are orthotic friendly, as I wear Custom orthotics, which i have to have made yearly..Very comfortable i go through two pairs per year.

Now you talkin'. I remember those on the cyber shelf quite well.

Yep! You'd be surprised the "secret" market for sneakers. There's ones that look to be for the rich if you online search. All brands have their normal to the very bizarre costing hundreds or more a pair. They slide in these "Made in USA" and "Made in England" versions as well.

I always liked new balance usa, about $160 a pair but worth it for me. Very good construction long life.

Im a slacker and always will be, so two brands always work: Adidas Campus and Converse All Star. Basically haven't changed a damn thing in 20 years lol

I love some Chuck T's but my most recent favorite (for shoes) was my P.F. Flyer's.

I was able to "pickle the beast" with ease....twice....with these shoes.

They're pretty worn out by now.
Been looking for another pair, but I can't seem to find them. Not even P.F. Flyer's website themselves has them in my size. Everything sold out everywhere.

But, they were pretty great, and outlasted any pair of Chucks I ever had.

Still love Chucks though, might have to just roll with it for a while.

Perfect for out running a mammoth Mastiff stealing your baseballs!
