So, My Phone Rings Yesterday...It's The Old Drummer...

So, I get a call out of the blue yesterday (while working on a 1937 Harley-Davidson for a chum) from our old drummer.

He is in with a local bar & grille and he put together a few music friends for a jam. The bar allows them to rehearse on the indoor stage. They put on a free show last weekend in the parking lot, and the club owner marked off areas with chalk - every 6 feet - where people can chill, but a lot of people just pulled up in their cars like an old drive in movie. They put on 90 minutes of non-stop music - in downtown San Bernardino - without the AFP (Anti-Fun Patrol) showing up. They have a similar deal brewing with a bar & grille owner in Crestline, which is only 20 minutes up the hill from my pad.

He invited me to reunite with our old band for another one of these performances, basically doing our old 25 song Judas Priest setlist, along with Dokken's Breaking The Chains, GNR's Mr. Brownstone, The Trooper, Crazy Train, Paranoid and Kroku's Midnight Maniac. It was really good to hear from the guy's again, so I said 'Yes' without hesitation.

The best part is, I won't look so weird in my masks now....

That's the fist time I ever actually saw his eyes.

Henry and I have been working on a side project. Looks like we might be working with Guns N Rose's Tribute (My Michelle's) bassist again, who was part of Fire Control's last lineup.

I'm working with the Board of Prisons to get a musical tour of several correctional facilities as soon as the lock down is lifted and the response has been overwhelmingly positive.

We are playing at Henry's pad on Saturdays in the interim..

I had to give the bass player a ride home to get his spare keys...
to let the old drummer out of the car. :pound-hand:
Oh no, not the old drummer...

Ampmad, I am sure he was over at the Marshall forum sorting out his DSL40C
It's a defect microprocessor chip and becoming a wide spread issue.
For some retarded reason Marshall decided to base all the switching functions of the amplifiers on programmable computer chips.
Resulting in : non serviceable amplifiers. Can't just fix a problem anymore but at the mercy of proprietary secret computer programing.

Interesting...is that common to all Marshalls now???
