So, minus buying from 3rd Party Sellers, all tubes are gone?

Its not like I change tubes very often but I just so happen to need 2 friggin EL34s and 4 measly Ecc83s for one amp I have. Browsing online? Ha, gone baby gone. Some sorry ass independent 3rd party and individual sellers wanting $110 for a pair of basic JJ EL34s : a tube that 6 months ago was about $54 for a pair. Seriously? And then now Psvane has popped up, an off-shot of Shuguang built more for HiFi applications but usable in guitar amps but at $110 for their basic entry level tubes.

This is ridiculous, I'm sorry. Too may jackasses ran out and bought up all known stocks from any of the usual dealers and panic buy #121 has set in. Same dumbasses who probably dont play their amps a collective 10hrs in a year suddenly need ALL the tubes on planet Earth.

The amp will sit and collect dust before I shell out anything close to that. That's why I have backups. Should I have had backup tubes? Yeah probably but I also dont swap tubes every year let alone every few months. Also, I'm not gonna pay $200-500 for a pair of some elusive piece of glass made from a defunct company in 1960 something. Why? You wanna do that be my guest, but if an amp costs $900 im not shelling half of it's cost for a part designed to be replaced. That's like buying a car and spending $200-500 on a 40-50 year old oil filter every time you service your engine

Its stupid as hell you cant even get a single set to carry on. Bout like that stupid Floyd Rose Speedloader bridge that required special strings no one has produced in 4-5 years and thus is self- obsolete. You have a 50-65lb paper weight now with an amp if you run out of tubes because everyone building amplifiers cant build a single friggin tube OR you let them drag you over the coals for insane markups.

Whatever

I think the market is going to correct itself.
There are so many tube amps all over the world, and people will keep buying tubes.

You're seeing a temporary condition, it won't stay like this forever.

I will ultimately break down and buy a new set but its just the principle of the matter. You have a select group of manufacturers who control the markets and dictate rocketing prices at-will by simply releasing a scare-all statement.

Im a devout fan of valved amps but this kind of action will drive many prospective future buyers into exploring different avenues and i fear ultimately, will kill the valve amp market entirely in time. I surely don't want that but I can see the exodus

Prices just doubled or buying power was cut in half same thing. They say my property went up in value 40% my taxes did.
Why the Russia Russia Russia hate 24/7 on the news stations Russia backed the Rouble with gold what are the other currency's
backed with ?? just think that $100.00 Squire guitar is now $450.00 soon to be $1000.00

And that's why Im hanging onto what I have vs buying anything at this point. Inflation has reached across the board obviously, but it will recede in time as it always does eventually. Things now are very difficult globally with supply and demand from a number of factors; but, you just have to adjust to it I suppose.

Same reason I'm still in the house I'm in now, because the market has been or sellers not buyers these last few years. Really need to expand with the family but it's not economical at this time. Automobiles is no better at all right now and thankfully, both of mine are paid off now, so we will sit on them and maintain them for the foreseeable future lol

Basic materials have suffered this same fate but they are a necessity and I just bite the bullet and go with them. Got a bathroom and 5 doors in my house that need replaced, so I will just suck it up and do it at the ridiculous cost it's currently at, because it HAS to be done. But gear wise, everything minus repairs is a luxury at this point in my eyes. If i were a paid musician ( and let's face it, that will never be the case lol) it would be a work related expense and thus a necessity. But being an arm-chair hobbyist, it can wait for me

I don't think inflation is going to recede, but the price and availability of vacuum tubes is going to improve.
The market will be flooded with tubes again, and the price will probably go down.
What you are seeing now is temporary panic buying / hoarding that drives the price up, that won't last.

Russian tubes are finished - Sovtek, Gold Lion, Mullard, Tungsol, Groove Tubes made in Russia are history.
But that doesn't mean that production will not resume elsewhere.

Electro Harmonix exists based on Russian products primarily, but that doesn't mean that EH is finished. They are just as likely to start production in some other country and resume business as usual.
They own the name brands, and those name badges have value which is worth something.

We will be playing MG amps or Kemper :)

I don't see any exodus.
Every attempt to change musicians over to transistors has been a historic failure.
It's never worked before.
Some of them will buy transistor amps but most will not.

History will repeat itself.
I play anything as long as I get chug chug out of it :)

I must say tho, when I play my DSL ( currently down) sound feels alive compared to digital set up I use.
