So I Decided to Build a Pedal (Collection) Board...

I like to keep it simple... what a concept, eh?

There's also a book by Dave Hunter, about effects.

I read this, and learned a lot. For those of us who are bookishly inclined. Not everybody is.
But it's easy to go back and read it again, even if the internet's down.

And yes, making a pedal board is like sticking your head down the rabbit hole.
The next thing you know, you're a stranger in a strange land.

Last three pedals on order. I'm going to start playing through the ones I have one at a time while I wait for these...

what the crap-----
how many "floors" will this board be?????

I may have 12 or 14 pedals, but only 8 or so will end up on the board. Some will be swapped in and out and some will move along.

The BOSS DS-1 may be the first to go because I'm not big on distortion in my playing...

I also believe the MojoMojo may be close to the Soul Food? So one of those may be enough.

The Reagan Fuzz is going to end up as a display unit for the graphics alone. I don't like Fuzz...

The Micro Vibe is a Rotary Speaker deal and I think I'm going to LOVE it! HOPE!

Joyo American sound may also be a pass around?

The board is coming...I Promise!

I had zero pedals a couple of weeks ago, picked up a looper with a little drum machine, and got three more pedals yesterday. I'm considering another one or two and these:

(The Rockboard, not the pedals - it's cheap and easy for a little board.)

I reckon I'll have it up and running, maybe 5 pedals (or 6?) by next week, so I'll be beating you timewise if you don't get going... :p

I got an EQD avalanche run the week they came out. (I preordered it.)
It sounded gorgeous but had way too many features I was never gonna use.
I resold it and bought a Source Audio Nemeses which did even more stuff...
o_O:confused:

Little boards are nice and can cover most of what I do live.
I can't see carrying a pedal that I will only use for half of a verse in 1 song.

Tuner...dirt...modulation...delay/reverb.
(One board also has a mini wah on it.)
Does one really need more than that?

Tuner...dirt...modulation...delay/reverb.

I kinda went for similar (the amp has a boast pedal built in), so I got a classic OD, a fuzz/distortion, a delay/reverb and a reverb/modulation pedal to go with my looper. They'll be room on the board for a small tuner too, so I'm done. I also tried to keep the pedals quite(ish) simple to use.

Spectre does have a lot of very nice pedals, but we're all different, and the Wampler Echo and Keeler Compresser are probably the only ones on his list I would have considered. But, I bet he can get some great sounds from the pedals he has whereas my tones will probably end up terrible... :coffee:

Those Source Audio pedals are really nice! They have a lot of tweak-able features...maybe too many???
