Gasp, Shock and, horror!
Good sir I will have you know that super strats take care of all of your complaints! Mine has a floating Floyd rose system so yes you can pull up! No pickguard, metal tone and volume knobs, the volume knob is out of the way, two emg humbucking pickups, and on top of that, a killer headstock! Yes my Dinky has a bolt on neck (not that it affected my sustain at all) so we go over to my Schecter Damian super strat that has a volute at the headstock and a satin coated set neck!
Good sir, I insist you cease and desist with the inexplicable slandering of the sacred super strats which where prevalent in the heavy metal genre in the 80’s and early nineties and to this day are being utilized and favored by musicians in some of the most brutal of music! The band Lorna Shore comes to mind!
Instead I suggest that we form a metal truce and tackle the real issue! The telecastsrs! We must avenge our brother in arms Ramos and combine our disliking of the coffee table with strings designed country instrument that dares invade upon our territory of genre and show it what for!
So slap some thicker strings on that strat, for the love of all that is metal, change out those pickups and RIFF!!!!!
Y'know, I'm sensing some deep-seated frustration and anxiety in you. You don't need to be ashamed; we all have fears and uncertainties which plague our thinking.
But, this is not good for your mental or spiritual health.
The good thing is that you're among friends and we're here to help.
Now, I believe you purchased this SSO for a reason. Deep down, at your subconscious level, you realize that this Strat-like experience will help you grow and develop. Now, don't resist this growth opportunity in your life. You're on the verge of a new era in your musical journey. Embrace it!
(Now, there will be those who may come along who will discourage this new growth opportunity. They will encourage you to stay where you are. You must resist the temptation to remain in the status-quo, as that leads to stagnation.)
But, you know what to do! You may not want to admit it to yourself, but you can feel it calling you!
Headache in the final analysis,"Only a Gibson is good enough" ........................................................................when you are ready for greatness, step u to a Mr. Potato Head Strat style!
Thank you for that Dr. Smitty ha ha ha that was Hilarious too !
I didn't buy this...I'd never spend money on a double cut over a pointy. EVER.
I truly do appreciate the comfort of being amongst friends. I feel like I am able to softly speak my mind.
I would argue that there IS some hostility I'm my dislike for Strats.... but NO frustration or anxiety.
Just a healthy, regular old "I hate everything Fender"
I've been that way since I was about 12... Not going to change.
I go on vacation for one week, 1 WEEK!Ha ha ha I know what some of you might be thinking....
What kind of click bait horseis this?
Did Steve started drinking again?
Did he fall and crack his gourd open causing all his marbles to fall out?
Metal heads don't own fugly ass strats! Ha ha ha..
....well this new one is ugly enough to be almost a strat for sure!
Ugly as sin double cut! Ewwww!
It's hideous!
I'll tell you one thing though, I ain't playing smoke on the water kind of crap with this new 7 string... tuned drop G!
(I didn't buy it... Sort of inherited it)
LMFAO!
I go on vacation for one week, 1 WEEK!
And I come back to find Steve playing a strat?!? And owning one to boot.
1) I never thought I’d live to see the day.
2) the end is nigh!!
3) @Headache Fiona wore you down didn’t she! … it’s ok, you can admit it.
The uncertainty of what i will have for my next meal is my greatest concern.Y'know, I'm sensing some deep-seated frustration and anxiety in you. You don't need to be ashamed; we all have fears and uncertainties which plague our thinking.

You might be on to something there. To assist Mr. Headache in his first, tenuous steps in this new experience of his musical journey, it may ease the process if this guitar is not referred to as a "Strat". He already has a negative connotation with that word.
As an alternative, I would suggest a qualified alternative, such as "Super Strat". While the word "Strat" may still be found in the term, the qualifier "Super" distances it from Fender products, and may call to mind the metal artists who use such an instrument.
I have also employed the simple acronym, "SSO" (Strat-Shaped Object), as a descriptor for Mr. Headache's new instrument.
You might be on to something there.
what about the term "double cutaway"?Thank you.
I also think that, while the term "Strat" may be employed in limited usage, as described, under no circumstances should this guitar be referred to by the full name, "Stratocaster".
I fear that such a definitive association with the Fender product would induce a psychological trauma which could harm and delay Mr. Headache's progress. So, I would strongly suggest that this guitar not be referred to as a "Stratocaster". Limited use of the shorter, more colloquial "Strat" may be acceptable under certain circumstances.
Perhaps, it would be best simply to use the manufacturer's name, "Jackson," when referring to this guitar. The association with the metal genre which this name provokes may prove beneficial.
The point is, our friend is at a new and unfamiliar point and we need to make this as smooth for him as possible.
what about the term "double cutaway"?
You're right, I wouldn't want to scare him off. He's like a deer in the forest, if he senses one little thing off he will run!
BTW, I like the way we are talking about him like he wont read this .... feels almost like we are planning an intervention. hmmmmm maybe .....![]()
Can we have a lunchtime intervention???what about the term "double cutaway"?

Just do what I do. Red one. Brown one. Blue one. Hollow body. I do call the acoustic my Ovation since I’m kinda proud of that one. I have had it nearly 50 years so it’s earned the right to be called by its name.Ha ha you guys are hilarious! Smitty you're cracking me up bro!
Yes in real life I wouldn't ever call this a strat.... the word gets hung in my throat....
(I just put it in the topic name for shock value)
This guitar would like to just be called the 7 string double cut.... Or just the Jackson.
And for the record.... This would absolutely be a regress.... NOT progress..... A double cut... or God forbid "strat" would be many many steps backwards from the perfectly drop tuned, active pickup enhanced, death metal, tone monster machines that I have spent so many years perfecting.... my Explorers and the V's and even the MLs are superior in every sense from Clapton's old ugly toneless junkers..... LMAO ha ha ha ha.
If y'all think I'd sit still for an intervention ha ha ha...
