So Anyway...

So anyway...

Advice for married men from Goldmember: When wife asks what's wrong,
or asks anything that could solicit an answer that could possibly be interpreted
as a criticism of her, simply say, "Nothing's wrong, my love."

Nope.
"If you let sleeping dogs lie they tend to wake up at the worst possible time."
Tell the truth and poke the damn dog. Get it out on the floor and chew into it.
Far better to do that than to let in lay in a corner festering and breeding resentment.
Of course the other side of this is.
"If you think the answer to a question will upset you, Should you ask the question?"

The verdict is in: 7.5 lbs on the bathroom scale. No more weight estimates for me.

OK.
Weighs less than my Y2D or either 335.
Looks can be deceiving.

Fatty!!!!

My Doubleneck is very heavy at 10-1/2 pounds, so I secured the Dunlop Straplocks with MojoAxe small-head #8 screws with 1" going into the wood. I used an adjustable strap to find a comfortable length - which turned out to be 45" center-to-center, I then had a strap made from 3" wide, double-sided black leather, almost .200" thick, 47" long overall. There is no need to adjust it, so it's just a solid blank.

I use Dunlops and MojoAxe #8 screws on my Gibson SG too, but as it only weighs 4 pounds, a simple D'Addario adjustable strap supports it just fine. My SG has 'Green Keys' and does not exhibit any tendency to neck dive:

The Doubleneck does have some neck dive tendencies. To counter this, a studio musician colleague gave me one of these:

Designed especially for EDS-1275's and it's an awesome, simple, yet comfortable addition!!!!

I remember when you did the recover.
My AL2k is bone stock except the stock pickup ceramic magnets are now A2.
Best $225. + $15. shipping + @ $4. magnets I ever spent.

Cool idea...

Sheeeiite, man! That is one of the heaviest I have ever heard of. The heaviest one I have owned myself was just a tick over 12 pounds (that was a '77) and my own '79 snotburst is right about 11.25.

We always speculated about how heavy it was. This year we finally broke down and weighed it. We were surprised!

And I'm gonna do it again in about 2 hrs
I had been playing more A5 humbuckers lately and I can finally really hear the difference with the A2.
I seem to be EQ ing for a little more treble with the A2, and less with the A5.

I may have to pull out a P90 with all this talk today.

So anyway...I think the weather is F'ing with my guitars. I've had five guitars that were perfectly set up, tuned and intonated start
giving me fret buzz on the low E string and sometimes A string. It's really pissing me off! I was trying to do an assignment for class
and guitar after guitar had fret buzz all the sudden...

Inevitable, but nothing a TR adjustment won't fix.

Excellent group. Seen three times:
1974 California Jam
1975 Sabotage Long Beach Arena
1978/9? Angel Stadium at a Boston concert with Sammy Hagar and his band, Van Halen ( second album tour) Boston was really not very good even though they topped the bill. Last time I saw BS they opened up with the whole side one of their first album. They did not do a single song from the Never say Die album they had just come out with. They were selling the NSD t shirts however.
