So Anyway...

You have the most unusual digressions. Good for you!

I have lawyers on stand by just in case I eat the wrong baby. I ate an English kid once and got away with it. My lawyers have never even written a letter for me. I have never had one suit filed against me. I take all the basket cases out of the ambulance. I even call time on others screw ups. A death, I always go and talk to the family. If they want a smoke I go to, a bar is directly across the street and I have even bought them a couple drinks. I never drink 24 hours before my shift. I have a Coke or if I am off in one hour I have had a drink and just talked to them. Never on law suit, and I think being personal and pleasant helps diffuse and problems. One girl made a trip out the windshield and they saw the glass in her eyes. That freaked them out. I told them I would stay and remove all the glass and then call the funeral home. I did and waited for their under taker. Not my patient. A friend messed up bad and he was exhausted. Good to have someone cover your back. She would never be close to normal and a super burden. That ain't my job but she was better off. I don't like going to court. I had my fill when I was appointed the courts special corner. Two years of finding the monkey business of cops and others. I still look over my shoulder. Any one know wear this goes? I hate extra parts!

Kevin Paul-- its good you have a heart

Thanks. That is a liver I cut in the shape of a heart for St Valentine's Day. The rest I froze for when the gang comes over and of course I made some dog treats.

So anyway, about 4 months ago, I had a short in my basement. I tried to fix it and got close, but ultimately did not have the time and wanted my guitar lair back, so I called a "pro" electrician. When he was done, things worked, but not quite right, Last night, the wiring went haywire and a breaker would not close. I decided to pickup where I had left off to learn that this "pro" had wired 2 hot leads together and it was feeding back into the circuit panel. Then, when his "wiring" hatchet job came loose under the nut and the 2 hots separated, it began arcing so that the breaker would not close. I straightened things out and I am proud of myself. At the same time, I am horrified that my house could have burned down these past few months and the spurious skills of those who take $$ for their "knowledge". DIY for life baby!

I have not had anyone do ANY work on ANYTHING in my house for the past 19 years. The new house did have carpet laid, but that was part of the purchase agreement.

I've run 220V for a dryer, installed laminate flooring, done tile work, installed a water softener, a 7 stage water filter system, a home security system...and the list goes on.

I also hardwired my internet to ever room and dropped CAT6 inside the walls. My surround sound has all the wiring hidden in the attic and the speakers are ceiling mounted.

Used to be the same with all my car maintenance, but I can't figure out where the engine is nowadays with all the crap under the hood, plus I'm getting to old for the grease monkey $hit!

Oh...and congratulations on doing it yourself...I guess I should have started with that...:D:D:D

Well done!
I'm the same, just built from the footings up a second kitchen on my house and did the brickwork, timber, plaster, electrical gas etc. I did pay for cupboards and stone bench tops.
